Corsair signs an agreement to supply Shell with pyrolysis oil.
Shell and Corsair for a Cleaner Future now stand together as business partners in sustainable chemical recycling for a brighter future.
The plastic waste recycling company Corsair Bangkok Company Ltd, CORSAIR, has signed an agreement to supply Shell Singapore Pte Ltd, SSPL, with pyrolysis oil produced from mixed plastic waste.

Under this agreement, Corsair converts daily household plastic waste into advanced bio oil through pyrolysis and supplies this oil from its chemical recycling facility for plastic waste in Thailand to the Shell Energy and Chemicals Park Singapore on Bukom Island.
The pyrolysis oil is then used in the production of sustainable circular chemicals. These chemicals serve a wide range of everyday products such as cleaning products, textiles, food packaging, and many others.
The CEO of Corsair, Mr Jussi Veikko Saloranta, shared:
“We are truly excited about this collaboration with Shell.”

Why does Shell buy oil from Corsair?
Plastic waste presents a major global challenge. Hundreds of billions of kilograms of plastic waste are generated worldwide every year, while current recycling rates remain far below what the planet requires.

The focus now moves toward developing efficient solutions that transform end of life plastic waste into new plastic products, similar to the circular systems already established for metals, glass, and paper. True progress comes from converting used plastic back into valuable materials.
“At Shell, we see chemical recycling as a powerful and viable way to complement mechanical recycling efforts.
This approach supports higher recycling rates that are essential for reducing plastic waste in the environment. This partnership represents innovation as well as a strong commitment to a sustainable and circular future,” said Phil Turley, General Manager of Global Plastic Circular Economy at Shell.
About CORSAIR:
Corsair Group is an international ISCC certified plastic waste recycling company. It processes daily household plastic waste such as plastic bags, packaging materials, and consumer packaging into advanced bio oil at its facilities in Thailand and Finland.
With its Global Head Office located in Thailand and its European headquarters in the Netherlands, Corsair carries a mission to cleanse the planet from plastic pollution by transforming discarded plastic waste from the environment and landfills into valuable products.
Why does Shell buy oil from Corsair? As part of its global development strategy, Corsair aims to expand its chemical recycling facilities worldwide, with a strong focus on Asia, Europe, and North America.
Alongside its industrial recycling activities, Corsair also develops and publishes the world’s leading plastic waste offset program, the CSR Plastic Credit. Through the CSR Plastic Credit, Corsair supports companies and individuals in reducing and removing the environmental impact of plastic waste by achieving certified plastic neutrality.
